Official Opening of the New 3G Football Pitch

We are excited to announce the opening of our brand-new 3G football pitch. This top-notch facility is designed to enhance the sporting experience for players of all ages and skill levels. This development marks an important milestone for our community, providing a modern space for training, matches, and recreational play throughout the year.

With football becoming more popular, our new pitch promises to be a central hub for local clubs, schools, and community groups. Join us on Monday 6ht October and be a part of this celebration!

A Modern Facility for All

The new 3G football pitch at Cottenham Sports Centre features cutting-edge technology that ensures a safe and high-quality playing surface. It can withstand a wide range of weather conditions, allowing for uninterrupted play regardless of the season. Whether it's rain or shine, players will enjoy a consistent playing surface.

What makes this facility special is that it is not just for experienced players. Beginners will have the chance to learn and improve their skills in a welcoming environment. The pitch will host training sessions, friendly matches, and tournaments. For instance, over the next year, we expect to engage around 300 players from youth teams to adult leagues.

Here’s what’s happening on the night:

From 5pm - Wildcats Session with Cambridge United Football Club Head of Female Football & Boys Youth Development + Cambridge United WFC Manager.

5:45–6:00pm – Official Opening Ceremony – photos, speeches & ribbon cutting.

6:10–7:00pm – Girls’ Match: Cottenham Colts vs Waterbeach Colts FC 

7:00–8:00pm – Coaches Match (bragging rights at stake!)
