Colts Weekend Round-Up [14th October]

Here is the weekly round up of team performances from all our Cottenham Colts teams from Mini-League through to the Girls League from Saturday 14th October.

MINI LEAGUE TEAMS

Under-7s v St Neots

This weekends match against St Neots was a tough one. Both sides battling hard in the middle of the pitch. There were lots of goals scored and Cottenham worked well together to make it difficult for St Neots.

The boys showed great resilience to bounce back from injuries and even helped St Neots out when one of their players went off injured.

Well done boys!

Under-8s [Red] v Chesterton Blues

A great result for Cottenham Under-8s Red team against a tough Chesterton Blues.

The game didn’t start that well but the boys soon composed themselves and got stuck into the game. All round team effort with goals all over the team and continues the boys' unbeaten start to the season

It is a real pleasure to see how much the team has developed over the past 3 years and we look forward to this continuing

Girls League

GIRLS TEAMS

Under-10s v Over Sports

The tough run of games continued for the Under-10s as they faced a strong Over side at home. Again, the squad was missing players and a combination of illness and injuries didn't help, but the girls battled on in windy, cold conditions. Very unlucky again not to get on the scoresheet, but it wasn't from a lack of effort.

Onto the next game, Girls!!

Under-11s [Purple] v Coton

The Under-11s Girls faced their toughest test of the seaon as they faced a strong Coton side. It was a very even match throughout with both sides have chances to win. The girls never gave up right to the final whistle and secured a postitive result to ensure their great run of form continued.

Fantastic result, Girls!!

Under-16s 2 v 3 Histon Hornets

The Under-16s went down to a narrow defeat at local rival, Histon. Lilia and Milly on the scoresheet but not enough to grab any points from the game. It was a first defeat in the league so the squad will be looking to bounce back this weekend.
