UNDER-10s v Girton Colts

A truly impressive all-around team effort from the Under-10 girls today against a Girton in the Cup. Right from the initial whistle, the girls displayed remarkable determination, energy, and focus, putting in the effort for each other across the pitch.

The defense remained well-structured and vigilant, executing crucial tackles and clearances to thwart Girton’s offensive plays. In midfield, there was outstanding collaboration and passing, with the girls connecting seamlessly to advance the ball and generate opportunities. Up front, the forwards pressed relentlessly and exhibited genuine creativity and confidence in their attacks.

UNDER-15s 7 v 1 Oundle Town

Cottenham took on Oundle yesterday in their inaugural cup match of the season. The home side began with enthusiasm as Luka broke through and struck the post. Bethan was quick to capitalize on the rebound, scoring the first goal.

Shortly after, Ellie netted her first goal for the club by maneuvering past a tackle and firing her shot into the net.

Oundle responded by exploiting a defensive mix-up, narrowing the score to 2-1. However, this only motivated Cottenham further, with Elsie embarking on a brilliant run down the left wing, outpacing three defenders and finishing exquisitely to restore the two-goal lead.

Bethan added another from a corner, bringing the halftime score to 4-1.

The second half continued in a similar vein, with Bethan completing her hat trick after a powerful run through the defense. Hannah scored with a shot that crashed in off the bar, making it 6-1, and Luka capped off the scoring with a quick break and finish from Tia's assist.

The final score was 7-1, marking a decisive victory.

Bethan was named Player of the Game for her outstanding performance throughout.

Great job, girls!
