UNDER-9s v Swavesey Spartans FC

A great start to the season for the Under 9 boys. They had an early start away at Swavesey. It was great to see the boys excited and up for the game. This showed in their performance on the pitch.

Every player gave 100%. They worked well in their positions moving the ball across the pitch and taking some great chances in front of goal.

A great performance against strong opposition.

Well done boys!

UNDER-13s [PURPLE] 4 v 0 Saffron Walden

Challenging opening match at home against Saffron Walden Reds. Both teams were evenly matched, fighting hard during the first half, with only a few opportunities arising.

The first goal was scored by Matilda, who collected the ball in her own half, sprinted the entire length of the pitch, and lobbed the advancing goalkeeper to make it 1-0.

In the second half, Saffron Walden applied significant pressure, managing to keep us on the defensive. However, a perfectly timed through ball from Khia found Molly, who finished with confidence.

Emmie contributed to the third goal in her debut match for us, assisting Millie, who unleashed an unstoppable long-range shot. The final goal was scored by Emmie after Flo set her up, finishing expertly following a composed run.

Matilda was named Player of the Game for her brilliant moment, but every player performed exceptionally well today.

Great job, girls!

UNDER-15s 0 v 3 Saffron Walden

The first match of the season took place away at Saffron Walden. We started off strong and nearly took the lead in the early minutes when Luka set up Sasha. However, Saffron Walden quickly countered and went ahead 1-0.

They added a second goal just five minutes later after executing a well-coordinated play down the left side, finishing it off with a solid shot. By the 15-minute mark, we found ourselves trailing 3-0 after a cross inadvertently deflected into the net off Kayla's back.

Welcome to the A league!

After that, the game became more balanced with both teams competing fiercely. We controlled significant portions of the second half but struggled to convert our chances. The best opportunity fell to Elsie, who just couldn't manage to get it in.

There were some nerves, and we weren't as sharp as we could be, but there's definitely room for improvement.

Kitty earned Player of the Game for her strong performance at left back.

Onward to next week!
