Cottenham Colts Weekend Round-Up [18th Nov]

Here is the weekly round up of team performances from all our Cottenham Colts teams from Mini-League through to the Girls League from Saturday 18th November.

MINI LEAGUE RESULTS

Under-7s v Willingham Wolves

Todays match was a competitive one which ended in a frustrating 10 minutes for Cottenham! The boys battled hard for the majority of the game but struggled in the last 10 minutes. The boggy pitch caused some tired legs!!

Most importantly, the boys had fun and worked hard as a team.

We are looking forward to the next match.

Under-8s [Red] v Trumpington Tigers

Performance of the season for our Cottenham Under-8s Red Team against an unbeaten Trumpington side

Goals galore, a defensive masterclass, some midfield magic and some impressive goalkeeping meant we ended up with a very positive result.

Very proud of the team today and how they have developed this season and kept our own unbeaten start to the season going.

Well done boys!!

Girls League

GIRLS TEAMS RESULTS

Under-11s [Purple] v Godmanchester

Two very good teams in action today. Godmanchester proved a real challenge but the Purples rose to the occasion.

It was a very tight match with both teams playing good football in wet conditions. The Purples rallied well to earn a well deserved result.

Some great defending was the main reason for the success today, Well played Girls!

Colts League

Under-14s [Red] 10 v 1 Alconbury Colts

It was goals galore as the Under-14s hit ten against Alconbury. Plenty of goalscorers with Anthony, Owen, Jake, Henry and Robin hitting the net in a very comfortable win.

Rocco with the goal for Under-15s Black to help the Colts earn a good draw away to Chatteris.

Under-15s [Red] 6 v 3 Burwell [CUP]

Reds go marching on!

Under-15 Reds met an in form, free scoring, Burwell side with a 100% record in the quarter-final of the cup today.

A goal from Louis and two from Joel, including a goal of the season contender, gave the Reds a well deserved 3-0 lead at half-time.

We struck again through Will C at the start of the 2nd half to go 4-0 up, but then complacency crept in and Burwell clawed their way back to 4-3. The reds rallied though with a goal from Ollie and a hat-trick goal from man of the match Joel, coming away with a 6-3 win.

A home fixture against Newmarket to come in the semi-final in January.

Under-17s 2 v 2 Saffron Walden

Francis and Oisin on target for the Colts to earn a good point away to Saffron Walden.
