UNDER-9s v Ely City Youth

The Under-9’s have started the season well with another strong performance against Ely City Red. The boys dominated the first quarter but Ely then made it difficult with a well fought battle.

Both keepers had lots to do but we continued to press forward creating chances.

Another great team effort. Well done boys!

UNDER-12s 1 v 5 Netherton Youth

It has been a very tough start for the Under-12s in the top league as they travelled to Netherton. The first half was very tight with both teams working hard but cancelling each other out.

The home side struck first from a free kick which wasn't cleared but the girls responded just before half time after a brave run from Maisie and Evie made sure to slot home.

The second half started badly with the home side taking the lead again and then extended it further. The girls never gave up and came close again with Maisie almost grabbing one back. Great effort from the whole squad on a tricky, bumpy pitch. The home side struck a couple of late goals with some excellent individual skill.

Tough result to take after the girls gave their all, onto next week!

UNDER-13s [PURPLE] 5 v 0 Cambourne Town

Today we were at Cambourne. With only 11 players, it was a big ask of the girls, but they stepped up to the challenge.

Khia's determined effort set up Molly, who finished with composure for our first goal. Then, some excellent passing across the defense resulted in Matilda delivering a great ball to Flo, who slotted it in to make it 2-0.

The second half continued in the same vein. Sarah assisted Molly, who broke free and scored her second goal. She completed her hat-trick with a powerful half-volley from a cross by Kailyn. Carmen capped off the scoring by capitalizing on a poor goal kick and driving her shot home for a final score of 5-0.

It was another fantastic team effort, but Molly was named Player of the Game for her confident all-around performance.

Great job, girls!

UNDER-15s 5 v 0 Bottisham

Today, we faced Bottisham at home, aiming to bounce back after last week's loss.

From the outset, it was a fierce contest, but our speed on the wings and in the forward positions proved to be the key difference. The girls capitalized on this, with Martha assisting Maddie for the first goal, followed by Marnie scoring the second. Both goals were executed beautifully.

In the second half, Bottisham applied pressure, but a well-placed free kick from Hannah made it 3-0, easing our worries. Martha seized a loose ball to net her own goal, and then Luka displayed excellent footwork to create space and finish for a 5-0 lead.

Overall, it was a strong performance; our defense and goalkeeper rose to every challenge, with Tia standing out and earning the player of the game title for her flawless performance at the back.
