Cottenham Colts Weekend Round-Up [25th Nov]

Here is the weekly round up of team performances from all our Cottenham Colts teams from Mini-League through to the Girls League from Saturday 25th November.

MINI LEAGUE RESULTS

Under-7s v Histon Hornets Blue

A cold morning saw the Under 7’s battle hard against Histon. With a few chances saved by their keeper, we were unlucky to not get a couple of goals.

Once again, there was great teamwork from the boys, with some lovely passing in the middle of the pitch.

Most importantly, the boys had fun!

Under-9s v Girton Colts [Friendly]

Girls League

GIRLS TEAMS RESULTS

Under-10s v Fordham

After a week off, the girls were back with a bang!! Even missing a few players, the whole team put in a great performance with some wonderful attacking play and also a rock solid defence.

Some great team goals that really showed how the team are developing and understanding the game.

Same again next week, Girls!!

Under-11s [Purple] v Under-11s [Red]

Another strong performance from the Purples today in the Cottenham Derby against the Reds.

It was a very competitive match, as you would expect in a derby, and both sides had chances. The game was played in the right spirit, and it showed how far both teams have progressed.

The Purples have remained unbeaten so far in the league and were duly crowned champions and got their medals at the end of the game.

The next league starts in the New Year, a great achievement and well deserved!

Well done girls!

Under-13s 0 v 1 Bottisham

If you like disjointed games with plenty of broken down play then today was the game for you. Couldn't really get anything going and the game seemed to be a long series of goal kicks and throw ins.

Bottisham broke the deadlock with a goal in the second half that proved to be the winner. It was all Cottenham after that, but we never really created a goal worthy chance.

Hannah got Player of the Game for plenty of industry in midfield.

Not our day, but not to worry, thanks to those who travelled to support.

Colts League

COLTS LEAGUE TEAMS RESULTS

Under-13s [Red] 16 v 0 Saffron Walden

A very comprehensive win for the Under-13s as they hit double digits away to Saffron Walden with Hayden hit seven goals, Kieran with a hat-trick, Levi [2], Joshua [2], Rily and Mason completing the scoring.

No luck for the Under-16s as they went down to a narrow defeat away at Cambourne.
