MINI LEAGUE MATCHES

GIRLS TEAMS RESULTS
Under-11s v Thorney

The girls wrapped up their season with a fiercely contested match against Thorney.
From the very first whistle, it was a thrilling encounter, with both teams eager to strike first, but the defenses held strong on both ends. The home team took an early lead with a skillful finish, and clear scoring opportunities were scarce as both sides showcased impressive goalkeeping.
The second half unfolded in a similar fashion, with both teams giving their all. The home team managed to pull ahead by two goals, but the visitors quickly responded with two goals of their own, leveling the score.
It was an exciting finale to the season, as the girls poured their hearts into the game, just as they do every week.
Looking forward to more of the same next season!

Under-12s [Purple] 4 v 2 Chatteris

In their second match of the week, this time at home against Chatteris, the girls aimed to capitalize on their impressive performance at Ely.
They kicked off with great energy, and Flo set up Molly, who skillfully finished to give us a 1-0 lead. Just minutes later, the duo connected again, with Molly netting her second goal. She completed her hat-trick shortly after, intercepting the ball from the striker and scoring to make it 3-0.
Flo then joined the scoring spree, seizing on a poor goal kick to extend our lead to 4-0.
Chatteris struggled to pose a threat throughout the first half, but when they finally got a chance, their winger fired a low shot that left Ava with no chance, bringing the score to 4-1 at halftime.
In the second half, Chatteris managed to score again and showed significant improvement compared to their first-half performance. However, Cottenham still created more opportunities. Molly struck the post, Marley had a stunning free kick that was tipped onto the bar, and Flo also hit the bar in the dying moments of the game.
The match ended 4-2, securing a well-deserved three points for Cottenham.
Molly was named Player of the Game for her remarkable hat-trick in just 20 minutes.

Under-14s 5 v 1 Trumpington

CHAMPIONS!
In the final match of the season against Trumpington, a victory would crown us Champions, while any other outcome would leave us as Runners Up.
After narrowly losing 3-2 in the previous encounter, we anticipated a tough battle. However, just 15 minutes in, Bethan set up Sasha, who skillfully evaded a challenge and slotted the ball into the bottom corner.
Cottenham kept the pressure on, with Bethan assisting Sasha again; although her shot was blocked, Lila was quick to follow up and scored to make it 2-0. Bethan continued to shine, finding Lila once more, who embarked on a determined run and finished exquisitely from distance.
Hannah, a stalwart in midfield, then turned provider for Maddie, who scored to extend our lead to 4-0 by halftime.
The second half saw Trumpington step up their game, resulting in a more physical contest. Their efforts paid off with a goal, but Cottenham responded by ramping up the pressure. Lila struck the bar with a powerful shot, and the rebound fell to Hannah, who volleyed it home for a 5-1 lead.
It was a remarkable team effort, but Hannah earned the Player of the Game title for her commanding presence in midfield.
What an incredible team!
