Here is the weekly round up of team performances from all our Cottenham Colts teams from Mini-League through to the Girls League from Saturday 5th April

MINI LEAGUE MATCHES
Under-8s v Witchford Colts

The Under- 8’s travelled to Ely to face a strong side to finish the season. Another even game where both teams battled hard.
If we look back at the start of the season, the improvement across all the games has been incredible. Each player has played their part and the development of each one has been clear to see.
Well done boys, really proud of you. Looking forward to next season

GIRLS TEAMS RESULTS
Under-11s v Ramsey Colts

The girls headed to Ramsey for their final away league game of the season on a perfect morning for football, a bit breezy but the pitch was in perfect condition, excellent groundwork!
The previous encounter was a tight affair and this one followed suit with both defences on top in the first half with chances being few and far between.
The second half opened up more and there were some well taken goals on both sides and each team battled hard to get on top in the game.
The unbeaten run goes on for the Colts and now with just a final league game left, they are hoping to finish in style.
Great team effort, girls!!

Under-14s 4 v 1 Saffron Walden

The girls travelled to battle Saffron Walden. From the beginning, our girls demonstrated their strength, and their early efforts paid off when Bethan scored from a corner taken by Maddie.
Hannah showcased excellent midfield skills, setting Lila on a strong run that ended with a saved shot, but Maddie was quick to capitalize, making the score 2-0.
Luka worked hard on the left wing throughout the first half, eventually finding Lila, who skillfully finished with her left foot.
Saffron Walden managed to score, bringing the halftime score to 3-1.
The second half saw a prolonged stalemate, but Maddie eventually connected with Bethan, who scored her second goal, extending our lead to 4-1. Elsie attempted a long-range shot that could have made it 5, but the goalkeeper made a great save.
Luka earned the Player of the Game award for her determined performance on the left side.
With just one more match to go, a victory would secure the league title for us.
It promises to be an exciting game!
