COLTS LEAGUE TEAMS RESULTS
Under-12s 1 v 4 CambourneTown
Under-13s 5 v 2 Shelford

Another week brings another impressive victory for the Under-13s on a stunning day!
This time, the boys welcomed Shelford & Stapleford at the Rec, and a big thank you goes out to the opposing coaches and team for their competitive yet spirited play.
The visitors took an early lead, capitalizing on a slow start from Cottenham. There was a moment of concern when Rooney struck the crossbar after soaring to meet a fantastic ball from Hayden.
However, the boys pressed on, and Hayden's creativity shone through as he notched up his first of four assists in a standout performance. Rooney opened the scoring, making a run from the back despite questioning the coach about his role.
Soon after, it was 2-1, with William scoring the first of his usual brace. Olly D added a third with another assist from Hayden, and Oscar capped off the scoring with a long-range effort making it 4-1.
Shelford & Stapleford could have pulled one back before halftime, but Oliver's excellent save and Charlie's solid performance in his new full-back role kept them at bay. Charlie also learned to engage in midfield, supporting Josh, who is on track to be the most improved player of the season. Kito led the attack with maturity, and the rest of the team contributed well defensively.
The second half saw some disruptions due to injuries, substitutions, and disallowed goals, but Cottenham secured a 5-2 victory, with William netting his second goal.
Kudos to the team for their hard work during Thursday night training sessions, which are clearly paying off. From starting with just 4 points after 8 games to now sitting 4th with 6 wins in 7 is a remarkable turnaround.
With no game next week and only three league matches remaining, the Reds are making a late push for promotion.
A big thank you to all the parents for their support in setting up and taking down, and to volunteer referee Andy—without your help, these games wouldn't be possible!
